Zero at the Bone Review: Zero at the Bone. I'm not one for effusive praise, but I basically didn't work today because I kept sneaking to read this book on my Kindle.The plot is completely cliche. Witness protection, good guy next door protagonist, hard-boiled professional assassin turned unwilling hero, shoot-outs, hiding out, bungling FBI, Stockhold syndrome... even a smidgen of car chase. All either great for escapist fiction or boringly predictable.What makes this book is the dialogue. I laughed out loud a few times. The characters are engaging and you fall in love with them.
